What is a Raised and Fielded Kitchen?

A raised and fielded door design was very popular in Georgian and Victorian times and recently, seems to be experiencing somewhat of a renaissance.

The outer door frame, surrounds (or rather fields) a centre, inset panel. This centre panel is shallow at the edges where it meets with the outer frame - ‘raising’ up to the middle of the door panel.

Staffordshire Kitchens and Granite (SKG) often uses this style for customers with farmhouses, period homes and historic properties. However, finished in a bold paint shade a raised and fielded design can also look great within a more modern setting.
